The quoted price covers the vehicle for the days booked, the driver, fuel, toll taxes and parking. Fares are per vehicle rather than per person, so a family of four pays the same as a couple in the same car.
Hotels are not included. Most guests book their own stay and we work the driving around it, though we are happy to suggest homestays in Tinchuley, Takdah or Peshok if you want the quieter side of the district.
When to come
October and November give the clearest Kangchenjunga views and the busiest roads, so book a cab two to three weeks ahead for that window. March to May is warmer with rhododendrons in bloom. The monsoon between June and September is green and very quiet, but landslides can close roads at short notice, which is when having a local driver matters most.
